Ecommerce SEO Course For Explosive Business Growth in Days

Introduction

My ecommerce SEO course has been helping retailers add an additional 5, 6, and & 7 figures to their bottom line in months since 2010. SEO has been my whole life’s work since I first started with own ecommerce business back in 2006 which was a niche jobs board that required search engine optimization for two audiences:

1 – Jobseekers (to search for jobs)

2 – Employers (to search for suitable job sites to advertise on with sufficient traffic).

I can assure you, one of the most difficult SEO tasks to achieve targeting two audiences with just one store.

After I closed that store after being gazumped by the big national jobs boards, I got a job as an SEO consultant for a number of years and then soon realized that the company I was working for was simply taking LARGE monthly retainers from clients, and not actually doing ANY work, I decided to go it alone and start my first SEO agency back in 2010.

I had, a very simple philosophy back then and I still do to this day…

Prove to my clients that the revenue growth they actually achieved was a result of the work I actually did for them and they’ll stay with me longer, and they’ll spend more money with me…

Kritin Mark

I’m still in business with the exact same motto after nearly 13 years so I don’t think it was a bad philosophy, and I’ve been helping others scale their businesses with SEO ever since.

Since then, I have dedicated my working life to doing my best to unravel and reverse-engineer Google’s algorithms to help websites achieve higher rankings, drive more traffic and convert more leads or sales.

I’ve worked with almost every ecommerce platform you can think of but the process for my ecommerce SEO process remains the same, no matter what platform you are using. My ecommerce SEO course will help you:

  • Maximize Brand Visibility
  • Increase Rankings
  • Increase Traffic
  • Increase Organic Sales & Revenue

What Is An Ecommerce SEO Strategy?

An ecommerce SEO strategy has the purpose of achieving the highest possible rankings for all of your products and collections/categories, driving as much purchase-intent-based traffic as possible, and of course, converting as much of that traffic into sales.

My methodology is about maximizing your store’s visibility, rankings, traffic, and conversions from the ‘natural’ or ‘unpaid-for’ search results.

It isn’t just about aligning your website with Google’s algorithms, 200+ ranking factors, and quality guidelines anymore, there’s now an infinite number of factors that can differ for every user, moment, location, query, device, and vertical and your job is to be optimized for them all.

I’ve always tried my best to simplify the complex ecommerce SEO process in my training course and I try to talk in a language that you’ll understand. My strategy consists of 4 key elements:

#1 – Technical SEO

Technical SEO is the technical things that you can do to your website and the code it is built with to improve performance in the search engine results pages (SERPs).

Google [like other search engines] has a common set of quality guidelines, algorithms, and 200+ known ranking factors that influence how well your online store is crawled, indexed, and ranked by the search engines.

Technically aligning your ecommerce platform with these is essential. These are the foundations for any successful SEO campaign.

#2 – Design & UX

Your store’s design, user experience (UX), and coded architecture has an enormous influence on how well your store can perform in the search engines.  These are known as Google’s Core Web Vitals.

Google’s sophisticated algorithms can detect a poorly designed and built ecommerce store. Large stores have the complexity of dealing with faceted navigation, category hierarchical structures, filters, and what not to index.

Google’s mobile-first indexing’ algorithm update for example [March 2018], now penalizes stores for not providing a quality UX on mobile devices. The list goes on.

Google typically makes over 3000 changes to its algorithm every year and we only get to hear about a few of them when it feels like it. Fortunately, it does, because it has kept me in a living since 2010!

My job is to keep up to date with the changes so you don’t have to!

#3 – Content

You basically need high-quality, unique content on every single page of your store that doesn’t cause keyword conflicts and your blog is there to produce content that influences potential purchasers of your products as early as possible in the purchasing cycle and decision-making process.

Generating expert, quality content that answers a user’s intent is essential for maximizing your store’s brand and product page visibility online.

Structured data and markup language are also essential for providing Google with as much data as possible about your products.

Your ‘on-page’ and ‘on-site’ SEO content strategy needs to be meticulously designed and executed to have maximum impact in the search engines.

Links pointing to your store are still one of the most important SEO factors that influence where your site’s pages rank in the search engines if everything else is in order.

Google tells you that the only way to attract high-quality links to your store is to produce brilliant content that other websites and blogs want to link to as in point #3 above.

Managing your link profile is also essential. ONE toxic link pointing to your site can seriously harm your rankings, traffic, and conversions.

So there you have it, a complex SEO strategy broken down into 4 key disciplines and in the next section, I’ll show you exactly what needs to be done and in what order, which makes such a difference when executing ecommerce SEO.

What is The Ecommerce SEO Process?

The ecommerce SEO process is a step-by-step framework for achieving maximum visibility in the search engines for every single page of an ecommerce store’s website.

Over the years, my SEO methodologies, teachings, technologies, and trainings have been covered and recognized by some of the biggest names in the SEO business…

Moz, Grwothhackers, Daily Telegraph, Software & Technology Awards to name just a few.

So this is a proven, tried, and tested ecommerce SEO course, training program, methodology, and framework that has stood the test of time and has been developed and refined every day since 2010.

I have hundreds of active clients across the work so this process is what is working RIGHT NOW in the search engines.

Site Audit

Site Audit – crawl every page of your site and assess it against its current standing with Google’s quality guidelines, algorithms, and approximately 200 known ranking factors to identify ‘technical’ issues that are hindering its performance in the search engines.

Technical & Design Engineering

An audit will identify a list of technical issues that are hindering your site’s performance. We will advise of any design changes that are required to facilitate the optimization of your site’s web pages including navigation, URL structure, hierarchical structure, and page layout –

Keyword Research & Mapping

At the beginning of your campaign, we will identify and assess your site’s current ‘keyword strategy’ to determine what keywords and search phrases your site is targeting, what keywords and search phrases you should be targeting, and what additional keywords and search phrases you could be targeting.

Once you are happy with our recommendations (based on our detailed research) we will program your site with your new ‘keyword map’ to ensure we are targeting different search terms on every single page of your site.

Technical & Design Engineering

On-site Content Optimisation (Panda Algorithm) – an on-site content strategy will be designed for every page of your site to ensure your site satisfies Google’s requirements for content quality including all categories/collections, sub-categories, and product pages.

I will help you check every page for quality, duplicate, poor or thin-quality content. One page of low-quality, thin, or duplicate content harms your site’s rankings in the search engines. Optimizing ‘on-site content’ issues will significantly improve your site’s rankings if your technical issues have been resolved.

On-page Optimisation training – technically optimize every single page of your site where possible including; accessibility, metadata, titles (H1-H6 tags), imagery (alt=tags), social sharing, structured data, layout, content, page load speed testing, image optimization, internal linking plus much more.

Link Profile Detox (Penguin Algorithm) – as I’ve said, one toxic link pointing to your website can be harmful to your site’s rankings. You need to assess and detox your current link profile monthly via the ‘disavow’ process when necessary.

Maintaining a healthy link profile is essential for improving rankings. I have recovered many sites from Google penalties and have expert knowledge of what constitutes a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ link.

Content Optimisation

Content Marketing is essential to drive additional ‘targeted’ traffic, reach new audiences, and attract links to your domain. Your initial ‘keyword research will identify a list of search phrases that your site should and could be targeting.

You should design a complete content marketing plan. Research and discover the exact content pieces that are driving the most amount of traffic to your top competitor’s websites and influence potential buyers of your products as earlier as possible in the purchasing life cycle.

Manual Content Promotion & Outreach

It’s one thing producing a brilliant piece of content but it’s another to persuade other sites to link to it. You need to build up a high-quality network of relationships with authors, bloggers, writers, and journalists from some of the world’s top blogs and most authoritative websites.

Over the years I’ve had my own content published on some of the biggest and best sites in the world, and have won awards for the results these links have helped achieve.

Project Management

Your SEO campaigns should be managed through our sophisticated CRM and Project Management software.

Each task of your campaign should be carefully thought out and structured and each task should be strictly monitored for accurate and timely delivery and execution.

These steps form the basic modules of my ecommerce SEO course and training program for anyone that wants to learn how to execute an effective strategy for their store.

Why Do You Need Ecommerce SEO Training?

Ecommerce SEO training can be highly beneficial for several reasons, especially if you are running an online business or are involved in digital marketing. Here’s why:

  1. Drive Organic Traffic: Understanding ecommerce SEO can help increase the visibility of your online store in search engine results, driving more organic (non-paid) traffic to your site. The more visibility you have, the more potential customers you can attract.
  2. Understanding Search Algorithms: SEO involves understanding search engine algorithms and how they rank websites. With proper training, you can ensure that your website is optimally designed and organized in a way that it ranks higher in relevant search results.
  3. Increase Sales: More visibility and organic traffic usually translate into higher sales. If your site appears among the top results for relevant searches, you are likely to attract more interested customers, and therefore make more sales.
  4. Cost-Efficiency: SEO is a cost-effective way to market your online store. While you may have to invest time and resources upfront, the long-term benefits often surpass those of paid advertising since organic results often have more credibility with users.
  5. Stay Ahead of the Competition: Ecommerce is highly competitive. SEO training can give you the tools to outperform competitors by appearing higher in search results for your products or services.
  6. Learn to Analyze Performance: SEO training will also teach you how to use tools like Google Analytics, which can provide important insights about your website’s performance and the effectiveness of your SEO strategies.
  7. Better User Experience: SEO isn’t just about keywords and links; it also involves improving the overall user experience on your site. A well-structured, easy-to-navigate, fast-loading website can improve your SEO and increase customer satisfaction.
  8. Accelerate Your Growth: Learning and executing a proven, tried, and tested methodology can significantly accelerate your speed of growth. You could spend years and years learning SEO, or, you could take my SEO training course which has nearly 20 years of expertise bundled into a few, easy to follow, high-impact training modules,

Given the increasing competition in the ecommerce space, SEO training has become an essential skill for anyone who wishes to succeed in this area. However, SEO is a constantly changing field, so continuous learning, and adaptation are key.

How Long Does Ecommerce SEO Take?

The time it takes for ecommerce SEO to start showing results can vary significantly and depends on several factors. On average, it may take anywhere from 4 to 6 months to start seeing initial results, and up to a year (or even longer) for more substantial results. However, this is a generalized timeline and can differ based on several factors:

ecommerce seo course reporting
  1. Website Age and History: Newer websites usually take longer to rank as they have no established authority or trust. Websites that have been penalized in the past may also take longer to recover and start ranking well.
  2. Competition: If your ecommerce business is in a highly competitive niche, it may take longer to rank well, especially for the most competitive keywords.
  3. Content Quality: High-quality, unique content is crucial for ranking. If your site provides valuable content that satisfies user intent, it’s likely to rank faster.
  4. SEO Strategy: Your SEO strategy’s effectiveness and how aggressively it’s implemented can also impact how quickly you see results. A comprehensive approach that includes on-page SEO, technical SEO, off-page SEO, and content marketing tends to yield the best results.
  5. Consistency: SEO is not a one-time task; it requires consistent effort. Regularly updating your website with fresh content, earning high-quality backlinks, and improving user experience are ongoing tasks that impact how quickly your SEO efforts pay off.

It’s important to remember that SEO is a long-term investment. While it might be tempting to expect quick results, the most impactful benefits of SEO tend to accrue over time. Additionally, even after you start seeing results, it’s important to continue your SEO efforts to maintain and improve your rankings.
